Principibus Fortuna dedit qud cuncta facessant,
Quae cupiunt, & iam quod libet, his liceat.
Corruet omne tamen sceptrum, si Regia Iuno
Discrepet docto Palladis arbitrio.

Fortune has given princes the chance to do everything they wish, and that all they desire should be theirs. But all sceptres fall if queenly Juno argues with the learned will of Pallas.

Fortune donne aux Roys tel advantage,
Que leur vouloir (soit bien ou mal) est fait:
Mais si Juno n’a de Pallas la sage
