Gestit eques, pressans armis crudelibus Orbem:
Sed Mors audentem praepedit, ulta nefas.
Sic funesta truci vanescunt vota tyranno,
Opposita saevit cłm Deus ipse manu.

The horseman rejoices, pressing the earth with cruel arms. But Death, avenging the crime, impedes the bold man. Thus the deadly desires of a harsh tyrant come to nothing when God Himself sets His hand against them and vents His rage.
