Voyant livrer l’assaut journellement,
Il est besoin de s’armer de prudence,

When the serpent sees itself threatened by a lethal wound, it covers up its head with frightened skill. This is the seat of the soul placed there, and the hiding place of truth: from this comes life, to be breathed into the whole body.
