Ce gros lourdaut courbé dessous sa charge
Treine à ses pieds la loy de Dieu sans honte:
D’humaines loix tout ainsi lon se charge,

Injusto fessus mundi sub pondere, leges
Divinas pedibus sanctaque jura traho.
Sed mihi quid tanti referunt, nisi damna, labores?
Cujus amor Mundus, displicet ille Deo.

Weary beneath the unjust weight of the earth, I drag the divine laws and holy jurisdiction with my feet. What do such labours bring me, other than damnation? He whose love is the world, is displeasing to God.
