Ce sot laissant la tresvive fonteine
Se cave un puits, qui l’eau ne peut tenir,
Dont tout le mieux qui lui puisse venir,

De ceux qui vont hors Christ chercher recours.
Christ est la source & la vraye fonteine.
Lui seul est tout, d’autre n’avons secours.

This man is digging a well, when behind him there is a clear spring of pure and ever-flowing water. In the same way they are deceived who hope for salvation from anywhere other than from Christ, the spring of salvation.
