Patience

L’homme qui est magnanime
A tousjours l’esprit sublime,
Et ne craint l’adversité:
Prevoyant le malencontre
Il s’enhardist a l’encontre
Et garde sa liberté.
Comme au lieu d’un beau branchage[1]
Un autre se faict passage
Et verdoye peu apres,
Ainsi l’esprit qu’on tourmente,
Au travail tousjours augmente,
Et s’enforce tout exprés.
