Junto à las aras en honor tenidas
Figuras de las quales la primera
Ciega es, por que no vea aunque ver quiera
Sentadas ves sin manos esculpidas.

Figuras son que dizen ser fingidas
En Thebas,[1] para que con tal manera
Muestren como an de ser en verdadera
Justiçia las audiençias sostenidas.
Estan sentadas, por que con sosiego
Se hà de tratar justiçia, y estan sin manos,
Por que el tomar no de desasosiego
Y por que l’afficion siempre hizo insanos
A los juezes, fue pintado ciego
Aquel que aprueva los juizios sanos.
