La Enzina.
Ottava rhima.
Fuč querida de Juppiter la Enzina,
El qual ansi de aqui piensan llamarse,
Porque ŕ nuestro favor siempre se inclina.
De Enzina una corona solia darse
A quien en la batalla repentina
Librando un cibdadano pudo honrrarse.[1]
Y aunque aora solo por sombra aprovecha
Por eso Juppiter no la desecha.
Notes:
1. ‘a crown of oak’, awarded for saving the life of a fellow-soldier; see Pliny, Natural History, 16.3.7.
