La desverguença.[1]

Muger era Scylla hasta la çintura,
Y en lo postrero estava rodeada
De perros que ladravan.[2] Tal figura
De los antiguos ansi es declarada.
Los perros son el robo, la locura,
Y el avariçia de Scylla engendrada,
A quien la desverguença nasçimiento
Haze todo mal y perdimiento.

In quatuor tempora anni.

The four seasons

Advenisse hyemem fringilla renuntiat ales.
Ad nos vere novo garrula hirundo redit.
Indicat aestatem sese expectare cuculus.
Autumno est tantum cernere ficedulas.

The chaffinch is the bird that announces winter has come. When spring is new, the twittering swallow returns to us. The cuckoo lets us know that it sees summer on the way. Only in autumn can one see flycatchers.
