ger Ulysses le dernier: pource qu’il luy avoit
baille du vin. Ce que voyant Ulysses (qui s’estoit
surnommé utis, c’est a dire en Grec nul)

tant boire de vin, qu’il s’endormit: & lors Ulys-
ses d’ung tison ardent luy creva son oeil. Par-
quoy de la douleur se escrya un tant horrible
cry, que tous les aultres Geans Cyclopes du mont
ardent Bolcar Gibelin l’ouyrent: & vindrent,
luy demandans qui l’avoit ainsi aveuglé: lors il
respon-
dit. utis, qu’est à dire nul. Parquoy
eulx pensans
qu’il fust devenu fol, s’en allerent
rians & se mocquans, & le laisserent. Par laquel-
le fable Homere donne à entendre, que les mau-
vais mangeurs de peuple, estans privéz de la lu-
miere de ce monde, souffriront la peine de leurs
malfaictz, & de nul ne seront secouruz, mais de
tous mocquéz, & confuz.
