Qui veut peindre un criard, laid, friand & gourmand,
A voix grosse & maussade au gosier large & grand,
Au bec nasé, ou fluste en
plusieurs lieux trouëe,
Qu’il peigne le butor à la voix enrouëe.

Commentaires.
Le Butor, qui s’appelle onocrotale & truo, a le
nez en guise de trompette, le gosier merveilleuse-
ment evasé, & la voix tant bramarde, qu’il semble
que ce soit un asne qui raille. Ainsi quelques uns, par
leur maussade glatissment, & par leur importun babil,
meslent le ciel avec la terre, combien que leur langage ne soit
autre chose, qu’un son privé de sens & de raison. Ceux
cy
sont tellement addonnés à la gouillardise, qu’ils n’ont rien
que la langue & le cul: & toutesfois le menu peuple
en fait grand cas.
