    Le citron doux amer ŕ Venus bien convient,
    Car Amour en son miel beaucoup d’amer contient.

    Commentaires.

    On peut aussi dire que le citron est le symbole de
    l’amour: car il est de couleur d’or: & sa saveur est
    bien aucunement douce & austere, mais son escorce
    est du tout amere. Ainsi l’orde volupté rid de plein
    abord, & semble estre toute d’or: mais apres qu’elle a
    baillé un peu du doux, elle baille l’amer ŕ plein go-
    det.
