LE PRINCE.
Le Prince procurant le salut de
ses subjectz.
Quand de la mer les vents troublent le cours,
Povres Pillotz hont à l’anchre recours,

Le daulphin aime l’homme, luy praesigne la
tourmente avenir, & en icelle luy ayde à an-
chrer seurement, procurant le salut de l’hom-
me à son povoir. A l’exemple duquel le bon
Prince doibt aimer ses hommes, en tribula-
tion les secourir, & estre curieux de leur bien.
Parquoy aussi plusieurs grandz Princes, &
notables personnages hont porté la Marque
de l’anchre, & du daulphin comme le Roy
Seleuc Nicanor, L’empereur Auguste Caesar,
Alde Romain, Noble imprimeur à Venise, &
dernierement Philippe Chabot Admiral de
France, Combien que tous à diverse intelli-
gence, & devise.
