On dit en commun proverbe, qu’il se faut bien ha-
ster & diligenter, mais peu à peu, & considerément:
ce qu’on dit en deux mots, Haste toy lentement: de
peur qu’une trop grande haste, peu consideree & pre-
meditee, ou un grand retardement, ne nous tournent
à dommage grandissime. Il faut en toutes choses suy-
vre la mediocrité. Cecy est merveilleusement bien re-
presenté en ceste figure, où la remore, ou echeneis, en-
vironne un dard. Y a-il rien de plus viste qu’un dard,
ou de plus tardif que la remore? de laquelle nous a-
vons parlé cy dessus au quaranteneufieme embleme.
Il faut donc prendre le milieu.
