SONETO.
La Muerte y el Amor siendo perdidos
Juntos posaron una noche escura,
Durmieron juntos, y mi desventura
A ambos hizo çiegos sin sentidos.
Que allà a’l amaneçer medio dormidos
Les trocò los virotes mi ventura,
Los de oro uvo tomar la Muerte dura,
Y el niño los de hueso amorteçidos.

Ambos despues con las flechas trocadas
Por el mundo à diversos lastimaron,
Y ansi fueron sus llagas mal miradas:
Que mis floridos años se acabaron,
Y los de el viejo que en las no escusadas
Sombras avian de estar, se enamoraron.
