QUand le Corbeau degloutit le Serpent,
Au goust luy semble un succre, ou venaison:
Mais puis apres grandement s’en repent,

Il fault menger, & boyre par raison,

Car cil qui boit, & menge sans mesure,
Va de sa fin tousjours en approchant.
La gueulle fait plus de desconfiture,
Que ne fait Mars de son glaive trenchant.
