As the owl shuts her eyes before the rays of the shining sun, and sees nothing except in the dark night, so our soul, conquered by its earthly prison, shuts its eyes before the great deeds of the highest God.

Pour regarder les rayz du clair Soleil
Trop foibles ha la Chouete ses yeuz:
Nostre esprit est trop foible (en cas pareil)
A contempler, & penetrer les cyeux.
