Summi vera Dei sicut censetur imago
Sydereo radians Solis in orbe iubar:
Sic bonus interris[1] [=in terris] Rex moribus atque probatus
Effigies summi creditur esse Dei.

As the light of the sun, radiant in the starry orb, is thought to be a true image of the highest God, so on the earth a good and morally strong king, it is believed, is a figure of the highest God.

Ainsi qu’aux cieux nous voyons le soleil
Representer de Dieu le grand ouvrage:
Semblablement, Roy usant de conseil
En ce monde est de Dieu le vray image.
