On tire bien des espines poignantes
Rose tresbonne & pleine de beauté.

Spina rosam educit placido durissima vere,
Cùm trahit incurvo taurus aratra jugo:
Quod peccant homines, justisque piisque saluti,
Nomen & est semper auctius inde Dei.

In truth, the harshest thorn draws out a rose gently, as the bull drags the plough from the crooked yoke; because men sin, God's name is always growing greater for the salvation of the just and the pious.
