Pourquoy nous pense-lon estre tout inutiles?
Pourquoy faut il donner avec nostre beautè
L’argent en mariage, & perdre liberté,
Puis nous rendre au mary plus que jamais serviles?
Pourquoy ne vivons-nous ainsi que bon nous semble?
Un mari nous commande ainsi comme un seigneur
Soubz l’ombre que hardy il va suyvant l’honneur
Au danger de la guerre, ou tout le mal s’assemble.

Et que la femme fust subjecte soubz sa crainte.
